A tree embryo
In a seed coat shawl

Biding my time
Starting to grow
Knowing that someday
I'll get to go

Epicotyl becomes the shoot
Radicle's now primary root
Cotyledons form my leaves
No, I ain't no weed

Dormant no more
Someday I'll get out of here
And go and explore
Travel the world

For now I'm anchored to the ground
Fungi friends are scattered 'round
Nutrients are getting to me
And someday I'll be free
